Griffin is a suburb in Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. It is north of Brisbane, the state capital. The origin of the suburb name is from the Griffin family who migrated to Australia from the Orkney Islands off the northern coast of Scotland.〔(Page Title )〕 Griffin contains both residential and agricultural land usage as well as recreational, boating and fishing facilities along the northern shore of the Pine River. Further inland the Pine River diverges into the North Pine and South Pine rivers. The Osprey House which is an environmental centre is located in Griffin. ==Demographics== In the 2011 Census the population of Griffin is 2,358, 50.9% female and 49.1% male. The median/average age of the Griffin population is 28 years of age, 9 years below the Australian average. 73.6% of people living in Griffin were born in Australia.
